Child of God
This past Sunday, our little boy received the wonderful blessing of being baptized! For so long, we talked about how we would raise our child/children to be a child of God. We want Evan to know the Lord, grow strong in his faith, and witness his love of God to all he comes in contact with. This wonderful sacrament was just his first step!
He was surrounded by family and friends on his special day. His grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and great aunts were here to help him celebrate. In addition to that family many members of his church family helped us celebrate after the service.
Evan wore a 127 year old baptismal gown that had been worn by 25 people before him (including his dad, grandpa, cousins, aunts, great aunts and uncles). It was gorgeous and so special that he got to carry on the tradition. His sponsors/Godparents are his Aunt Stephanie, Aunt Sarah, and my best friend Crystal. These three ladies will no doubt share the love of God with Evan every chance they get!
Oh and Evan did great during the service. He slept through the whole baptism, even when getting washed with Holy Water. He woke up during the remainder of the service, but was a good boy and quietly looked at the lights!
Here are some pictures from his special day!
