Buttons take on the kid

So I just had to share this video...not because Evan is hating tummy time at the moment, but because you can see Buttons in the background.  She doesn't look too interested in what Evan's doing or what is going on, which is pretty much her constant state these days.  Buttons will sniff Mr. Man each morning to make sure he's still OK and every once in a while when Evan's in his bouncer she'll give him the once over.  For the most part, Buttons has adapted very well to having a third Gerke in the house.  She's getting old and slowing down, but overall still the best dog ever!

One Month Old

I can't believe that Mr. Man is a whole month old!!  This month as gone so fast..seriously, there needs to be a pause button.  After a trying week last week, it appears that thanks to a formula change our sweet baby boy is back!  He went from screaming all day to a happy and content baby.  Plus, we went to the pediatrician for his one month check up and the doctor says he is perfect!  I mean I already knew that, but it is nice to hear it from a professional! 

So here are his one month stats!

Weight:  9 pounds, 9 ounces (up 1 pound, 1 ounce from birth..almost 2 pounds from being discharged from the hospital)

Height:  21 3/4 inches (a full 1 1/4 inches longer than on his “birth”day)

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hi there!

So this is my first letter outside the womb!  I figured it was time for my first blog post.  This week has been pretty good.  It was just mommy and me this week (with some visitors mixed in).  We did pretty well!  I feel bad, because I’ve gotten into this habit of only sleeping during the day when mommy is holding me.  It doesn’t let her get a lot done during the day, or even nap for herself.  We had a long talk and agreed that this week we’ll work on sleeping in other places during the day. 

During the night I sleep like a champ though.  I enjoy a nightcap at around 11:00, then sleep for about 4-5 hours, finish off another bottle and sleep another 4-5 hours.  I’m not sleeping in my crib yet, but hopefully will be in a couple of weeks. 

Some of my favorite activities are listening and looking at mommy and daddy, playing on my play mat (did you see my video?), tummy time (I can lift my head pretty high!), and looking outside.  I amazed mommy this morning during tummy time.  I managed to roll onto my side then over to my back.  I’m not amazed because I know I’m awesome and strong!

Well all this blogging has me exhausted, I think I’ll go take a nap in mommy’s arms (uh, I mean the pack n play).

Fun with the Play Gym

Two Weeks Today

I can’t believe that Mr. Man is 2 weeks old today!  He is already changing so much.  He is starting to coo more and his appearance seems to be changing every day.  He is still of course adorable! 

This week Grandma S. came down to help and we had so much fun!  Evan went out for his first shopping trip to Target and a trip to my doctor to check on a little side effect from the C-Section.  He also had Miss Pat come and visit.

Today he went to the pediatrician and he is back up to his birth weight plus an ounce, so the doctor says he is doing great.  Again, not sure where this week went, but I know I had fun snuggling Mr. Man and watching him grow!
